What does Adansonia mean?

Adansonia is the botanical name for the baobab tree.

Perhaps the most adaptable plant on the planet. Native to harsh African savannah, they survive blinding daytime heat, freezing night time frost, long dry seasons and short wet ones.

But they don’t just survive. They thrive.

They grow over 30 metres high, and live for up to 5,000 years. They provide shelter and sustenance for not just themselves, but for the community around them.

A baobab tree can thrive in even the most challenging environment and transforms to a completely different tree in spring.

Like the baobab tree, we can adapt and become stronger, more resilient people. We too can thrive.
